Meet Author Lia M. Hollis
Lia M. Hollis, LCSW, QCSW, is a clinical social worker, educator, and grandmother with more than 20 years in the helping profession. Her writing brings compassion and encouragement to conversations about children’s emotions.

Lia M. Hollis, LCSW, QCSW, is a clinical social worker, educator, mother, and proud grandmother. She has over 20 years of experience in the helping profession, supporting children, families, and communities through mental wellness, education, and empowerment.
Lia is the founder of Living In Authority, PLLC, a private practice dedicated to counseling, consultation, and wellness services. She is passionate about creating safe spaces for children and adults to express their feelings, build resilience, and discover their strengths.
As a school social worker, educator, and mentor, Lia believes in the power of early emotional education. She is committed to helping children understand that every feeling has a place—and that they are never alone in what they feel.
Lia is also a proud grandmother, known as Gigi Nona, and it is through her grandchildren that this book was inspired. Their curiosity, honesty, and big feelings continue to remind her of the importance of listening, validating, and talking about emotions.
Through her work, writing, and advocacy, Lia hopes to encourage kinder, more compassionate homes, schools, and communities.
“Every feeling deserves to be acknowledged—even the uncomfortable ones.”
